Model metadata

The model selector shows models reported by the provider you configured, including names, IDs and Gateway pricing when available. Additional information from models.dev  can include modalities, capabilities and catalog pricing.

System-provided metadata

  • Modalities: What the model can accept as input and produce as output: Text, Image, Audio, Video, PDF.
  • Capabilities: Boolean flags from the catalog when present: Reasoning, Tool calling, Structured output.

You can use this metadata in the model selector to search, sort, and compare models. Routing policy still decides which providers you may call.

Transparency and pricing

Model metadata is part of Steinkauz AI’s transparency approach: you see which model you are using, and you can check usage, costs, and activity for your active organization. Together with Data routing policy and provider configuration, this helps you control where your data goes and what you pay.
